How We Choose and List Games
Crate Ship Games carries three kinds of games. This page explains where each comes from, what we check before it appears, and what each listing does and does not promise.
1. CrateShip Originals
Originals are designed, built and maintained by Crate Ship Games. They carry the Original badge and "By CrateShip Games" on their pages. We write their descriptions, controls and guides ourselves, test them on phone, tablet and desktop browsers, and fix problems players report. The Last Fisherman is the first Original.
2. Partner games from GameMonetize
Partner games are made by independent studios and distributed by GameMonetize. We do not build or host them. Here is how they are handled:
- Selection. Games are picked from the distributor's official listings using its editorial and popularity signals and the quality of the cover artwork. We favour games with clear controls and touch support.
- Automated checks. Before a listing goes live we confirm that the distributor's listing exists, that the game's embed address responds and that its cover image loads.
- What we do not certify. We do not play every partner game through to the end, and a listing is not a recommendation that a game is suitable for every player. Device support shown on these pages comes from the distributor.
- Clear labelling. Each partner game page names the developer, says it is distributed by GameMonetize, says it may show the distributor's ads, and links to the distributor's privacy policy before the game loads.
- Descriptions. The "About this game" and "How to play" text on a partner game page is supplied by the game's developer through the distributor, and is shown as published by them.
Partner game pages are kept out of search-engine indexes because their descriptions are the developer's own and appear on many sites. They remain fully playable from the arcade.
3. Creator games
Any verified player can join the creator program. Every creator game is reviewed by the owner before it is published, checked against the Acceptable Use Policy and Community Guidelines, and can be removed if it later breaks them. Creator uploads open in stages as review tooling is completed.
Removing a game
We remove listings that stop loading, mislead players, or break our policies. Report a game from its page or email crateshipstudios@gmail.com. Copyright owners can use the takedown process.
Advertising and money
CrateShip Originals currently show no ads. Partner games may show ads served by their distributor, and those ads are controlled by the distributor, not by us. If we add advertising to our own pages, we will update the Privacy Notice and cookie choices first.
