Who we are and scope
This notice explains how Crate Ship Games, operated by Jamaine Martin, Washington, United States, collects and uses personal information when you use crateshipgames.com, the Crate Engine and related services. We are responsible for that information. Questions and requests: crateshipstudios@gmail.com. Games made by creators and partner studios may collect information under their own policies; creators must disclose any additional collection on their listings.
Information you give us
When you create an account we process your email address, username, display name, verification status and sign-in records. Google Firebase Authentication handles password and Google sign-in; we verify the sign-in token and create a platform session. Depending on the features you use, we store preferences, favorites, library entries, play history, game progress, projects and uploads, creator listings, reports and support emails. Please do not put passwords or private keys into uploads or messages.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting and security services receive network and device information, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect accounts. Our own visit counter derives a keyed daily visitor identifier from that information and stores counts and that identifier rather than your raw IP address. It skips browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. This measurement is pseudonymous and does not use tracking cookies.
How we use information
We use personal information to provide and secure accounts; deliver, save and review games and projects; respond to support and policy requests; prevent fraud and misuse; understand how the service is used so we can improve it; and meet legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the service, your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with service providers that process it on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting, storage and security) and Google Firebase (authentication). When paid features launch, Stripe will process payments and seller verification directly through its own forms; we will store order and payout identifiers and amounts, not full card or bank details. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer. Information you publish, such as a creator profile or game listing, is visible to others. Our providers may process information outside your country.
Partner games (GameMonetize)
Partner games are distributed by GameMonetize and load from its servers only after you choose Play. Those games may show advertising managed by GameMonetize and its partners and may use cookies or browser storage, including for game progress. GameMonetize and its advertising partners receive network and device information when the game and its cover images load. We do not pass your Crate Ship Games session cookie or wallet details to embedded games. See GameMonetize’s Privacy Policy and use any privacy choices the game offers. Ticking the provider-information box on a game page confirms you have read it; it is not consent to personalized advertising.
Google advertising
We have applied to show Google AdSense ads on Crate Ship Games pages. When those ads are active, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. How Google uses information from sites that use its services explains Google’s processing. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalized ads are shown, and visitors in US states with privacy laws will be offered the opt-outs those laws require. CrateShip Originals do not show ads.
Cookies and storage
We use a secure, HttpOnly sign-in cookie, and your browser stores items such as signup details in progress and local projects. Details and your choices are on our Cookies & Privacy Choices page.
Security and retention
We use access controls, encrypted connections and encrypted secrets to protect information, but no system is perfectly secure. We keep account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your profile and personal feature records; we keep limited records where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal, tax, accounting, rights or dispute purposes, and copies in backups are removed on their normal cycle.
Your rights and choices
Use Settings to update your profile, manage sessions and preferences, or delete your account. You can also email us to request access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including withdrawing consent and opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising. We verify requests in a proportionate way and will explain if a legal exception applies. Do not send passwords or identity documents by ordinary email. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact crateshipstudios@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
We will post any update to this notice here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will give notice before the new processing begins.
